Must Have's

Ok, so as previously stated, I completely stole my layout from AnnyPurls. On her blog, I found Grumperina because I fell in love with a pair of socks they had both knit.

From Grumperina's blog, I went to Annie Modesitt's website (it had to do with the socks) and I've fallen completely in love with 2 of her patterns. They are absolute 'must-haves' for me. The first is called Butter & Jam.

The second is a long coat and I absolutely love the colours!!! Such an amazing article of clothing.
I wish I was creative enough to create such beautiful patterns.

So, I shall purchase the patterns from her site ( you can see the patterns here) and get to collecting the required bits for production.

Yay!!! I love new projects!!!

Build-A-Bear & slacking...

*sigh*

So I haven't been very diligent in posting this week. I've been working on my website and also trying to finish some of my projects. Still not done the slippers I've been knitting, and I've got so many other things I want to do. I wish I could just sit and knit or crochet all day, but I can't. Work does beckon so that's that. But I will finish them this weekend, I swear! Probably during Miss Marple Mysteries tomorrow night. I'm off to see 'Ghost Rider' with my friends tonight, which I have been dying waiting for it to open, since I heard it was being made. I love Nicholas Cage and he was made to play this role, especially since he's a huge comic fan himself.

My friend, Dwayne, gave me a gift card for Build-A-Bear and I finally got to go today after I had my hair done. I had soooo much fun!!!! Its suppose to be for kids, but I don't care! I mean, who doesn't love teddy bears??? Its a tad on the expensive side, but its absolutely worth it.
I made this one ..................................................................................

And this is the outfit I put on him...

You can't tell me he isn't cute. I named him Alfred. He's fun! What can I say? I love a cuddly, furry man in uniform. *sigh* Now, I want to go back and build a husky one, and put him in a Mountie uniform too!!! I'm sad, I know. hahahaha..........
And I'll knit them those hats that the mounties wear in the winter!!!!! Hey, there's an idea!!!

I feel like Cinderella...

Well, I've finished one slipper and now must start the other. I hate knitting actually compared to crocheting but these slippers can only be knit. I would much rather start in on the new yarn I bought yesterday. Its Red Heart Light & Lofty in Wine. Such a rich beautiful colour, I had to have it. Its just so luxurious and emits a feeling of warmth & passion.

Last night, I went out with a few friends. We played pool (well, if you can call it pool) then went to the Casino for a bit. Dwayne & I tag teamed and within 10min's were up by about $200. Out of nowhere I told him to put chips on black 17-no idea why, I just blurted it out. You guessed it, the unbelievable happened; it hit black 17. Dwayne won $200 on that chip alone and gave me half, so I'm $100 richer tonight!!! woohoo!!!! I'm not a gambler but, when the mood strikes, I will because I know that if the itch is there, I'm gonna win, and I always win semi-big. Not thousands mind you, but more than $100 for sure. After I left Dwayne & Kent at the Casino, to drive Stacey home-they lost it all. Seems they're luck went out the door when I did. Oh well. We had a lot of fun and it was good to get out. I thought I might see Stephen at the Casino as he use to work there, but no such luck. I was hoping he might work there still part-time. I'm such an eejit *slaps forhead* I gotta let my dreams of him go......

One Project done....a Million to go....

So I finished my cotton kufi hat tonight.
It is friggin tight on the head, and that's saying something coz I have a small head, AND I increased the size beyond what the pattern called for. It did turn out well though, so I'm please with that.

Knitting On 4

So, I've decided it was high time I try knitting on 4 needle's, the way my grandmother use to when she made mittens and socks. I've decided to be further adventurous and make not just any old pair of mittens, but a pair of fingerless gloves (I guess I needed a headache quite badly!). I find when I'm knitting or crocheting, my hands get cold, so I thought what better than to have a pair of gloves with just the tips missing so I can hold the needles/hook. I chose a man's pattern but it is just as suitable for women, I'm sure. I'll make them in pink or something...

A labour of Love

I've started a site in memory of my grandmother and her love of knitting & crocheting for her family. Its still a work in progress but I'm loving the layout and its a great feeling.
